To prevent data loss due to faulty hardware components, our storage systems use a unique combination of protective measures. Each of our storage media always contains 12 data carriers. Redundancy means that up to four can fail simultaneously without any data loss. We also install data carriers from three different batches or—where possible—three different models. This prevents correlated failures due to series defects.
All systems are designed for geo-redundancy. By replicating data to a second location, it can still be recovered even if one site fails completely, for example due to a disaster or theft.

Regularly migrating the massive amounts of data generated by backup & archiving costs a disproportionate amount of time and money. Furthermore, every data migration increases the risk of data loss and violation of legal requirements.
Our storage systems are designed to last 10 years or longer. A long-term maintenance contract accompanies the systems throughout their entire lifespan and covers much more than just the replacement of individual components. We see it as our responsibility to ensure that maintenance work is only complete when you have full access to all your data again.
